Sports and a festival as a perfect unit
With culinary delights on the table, a direct view at the very exciting sailing competitions, a concert visit on the daily schedule and a beach party with fireworks in the late evening. Everything is possible at the Travemuender Woche. The ways are short, the program is extremely packed.

In the last full week of July the beautiful borough of Luebeck offers a huge spectrum of possibilities. The Travemuender Woche is a symbiosis of regatta and festival; athletes and visitors present a colourful mix. During the best vacation period of the year, the organizers from the Luebeck Yacht Club are setting up a highclass sports program. The bay of Luebeck is presenting itself as a championship territory. Hosting World, European and German championships is part of the regatta week's identity.

In 2016 the athletes are sailing for one of the seven international and national titles and gaining points for the national sailing league. Around 1500 sailors with 800 boats are expected to show up to be fighting for good results. The sportsmen and women can present themselves in front of a splendid scenery and around one million visitors - perfectly presented to the visitors via TV broadcasting and show races. They will be sailing on nine race courses - and on the SAP Media Race Course close to the shore, where spectacular TV images are shown on the big screen at the beach. And ever evening exciting classes are presenting themselves at the SAP Trave Race, sailing in the Trave arena. This is the point, where the unit between regatta and festival is finalised in its best sense.
